VIP bitches!

Yep, I hit Silver Star VIP.  Playing at 25NL instead of 10NL makes a huge difference. You earn VPP's more than 3 times as fast.  

February was a decent month. I reached my goal of moving up to 25 NL.

I also started using my FPP's to play in the 210 FPP satellites for the Sunday 200K tourney. You just have to finish in the top 6 out of 20 people. Then I just unregister from the Sunday 200K and get credited $11 in tourney dollars. You can easily sell the tourney dollars to someone for real dollars for 99% of their value.   This month I played in 18 of those satellites and won 8 of them. I sold the 88 tourney dollars for 87 real dollars.  That averaged out to 2.3 cents per FPP. for comparison the $50 cash bonus for 5,000 FPP's averages out to 1 cent per FPP.  I highly recommend Micro stakes players try this out.

My goals for March:

1. At least 60 hours of poker.

2. Gold Star VIP

3. Play in 27 of the 210 FPP satellites.

Over due update.

I fell short of my January goal of achieving Silver Star VIP. I at least achieved my goal of moving up to 25NL by the end of February. I moved up this week, and so far I'm doing very well.

Tonight Stars will hit the 25 billionth hand.  I've never won anything big in my life, so it would be nice to win that hand.  It would be life changing.

It's been a bit of a grind the last couple weeks. I haven't made as much money as I had hoped. I had some down swings, but managed to come back. I ran some numbers on my tracking software to find some things I could change to plug some leaks.  I think it's helped. I'm playing a bit tighter than I would prefer but it has stabalized my game and improved my winrate.

I've fallen behind on my Silver star VIP for January. It's still doable, but I underestimated how many hands of play it takes to reach that playing at 10NL.

1st week progress report.

A decent week overall. Only one losing day, and that was Friday. I finished up $46.70 for the week. I would have like my winrate to be a little higher, but with the number of hands i'm playing now, the lower winrate is expected but I'm still making more per hour just through sheer volume of hands played.

The Poker Gods were generous today.

Tuesday was a okay session. I came out a little bit ahead. Wednesday I didn't play at all, I decided to spend the day with my girlfriend. Today was quite good.  $31.40 after two and a half hours of play.

So it begins.

I started out with 50 dollars in July of 2008. At first I played once or twice a week, and slowly started playing more and more. I started playing $5 No Limit Holdem.  By December I had built it up to $212 and moved up to playing $10 NL.   I  have built up to $302 then had a bad day that left me at $277.  My Goal is to make enough money playing poker to make it my full time job by July.

My immediate goals for right now are to reach Silver Star VIP status by the end of January, and have a bankroll to move up to $25 NL by the end of February.
